4 Days Classic Yangon And Bagan

From the majesty of golden Shwedagon Pagoda to the breath-snatching panorama of temples dotting Bagan landscape, this is the trip offering a glimpse of the best of Yangon and Bagan.

ITINENARY:

Day 01 - Arrival Yangon

Enjoy an introductory tour of Yangon. Take a short joy ride on the circular train, rubbing shoulders with the locals before getting off at Scott market. Stroll pass the U Thant Mausoleum and colonial mansion and enjoy a refreshing drink ata local teashop. Arrive Shwedagon Pagoda before sunset to witness the massive emerald reflecting the last rays of sun and stay until the pagoda illuminates and devotes arrive to say their prayers.

Day 02 - Yangon / Bagan

Transfer to the airport for your early morning flight to Bagan.

Spend the day touring the Bagan Temples. Climb atop a pagoda and take in the fantastic view of the plains dotted with temples and pagodas. Tour the temples including the few popular ones such as Gubyaukgyi Temple for its frescoes, Ananda Temple, rated by many as the most beautiful and the uncompleted Dhammayangyi stupa. Enjoy a picnic lunchamidst the temples! As the day wanes we take a horse cart ride through village and temples before reaching a quiet spot for a dramatic sunset over Bagan!

Day 03 - Bagan

Optional: At sunrise, enjoy a sensational hot air balloon ride over the Ayeyarwady plain and thousands of temples! (Operates Oct – Mar only and advance booking is strongly recommended)

Today, choose between two activites:

1) Unseen Gems of Bagan

Visit the temples that are not on tourist maps and discover the hidden temples of Bagan. A fantastic day tour that certainly shows you the secrets of Bagan as only few have seen it.

2) Half Day Off the Beaten Track Jeep Safari

This morning, hop on your 4x4 jeep and head out to the countryside, visiting the local villages and their home industries. See the blacksmith working on an ox wheel, earthen-ware pottery, palm sugar production and the traditional way of cooking oil and farmers working on the fields. It would be an educational outdoor class for your children!.

In the late evening, take a boat ride down Ayeyarwady River for a different view of Bagan and enjoy a sundowner on a sandbank (if water level permits). For the active, ride an E-Bike or mountain bike through the temples to the pier before boarding.

Day 04 - Bagan/Yangon

Transfer to the Bagan airport for your flight to Yangon.

Depending on your departure flight, transfer to town and your guide will bring you to Bogyoke market (closed on Monday) or whatever shop you like to find your final souvenirs. Transfer to the Yangon airport for your flight.
